Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Peridot EOOD (company number 208230731, Bulgaria), the maker of Boko (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Boko (“the App”), you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

Boko is a virtual pet game for iPhone and iPad, provided for entertainment. Your pet, its needs and everything you earn in it are part of a game. We keep adding, changing and sometimes removing features, items and prices, and we may limit or end the App or any part of it.

Boko creates an account for you automatically so your progress is backed up. You can link it to Sign in with Apple to restore it on another device. Keep your device and Apple ID safe; we cannot restore an account that was never linked if the device is lost. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Account.

Boko Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold by Apple, monthly or yearly. The price and what Premium includes are shown in the App before you buy. If a free trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. The subscription renews automatically at the same price and length until you cancel. You can cancel or change it any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions); cancelling stops the next renewal and Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for.

Premium items, worlds and pets made with Premium can only be used while Premium is active. When it ends you keep them, and they come back if you subscribe again. Custom pets included with Premium are limited to the number shown in the App for each period.

Moons, Pet Tokens, food, hats, decorations, worlds and other items are a license to use them in the App, not property you own. They have no cash value, cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and are not refundable except as required by law or by Apple’s refund policy. Moons can only be earned in the game. We may change how items work, their prices or what they do.

All purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple’s terms. You can restore purchases on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.

When you turn a photo into a pet, you confirm that you have the right to use the photo and, if it shows another person, their permission. You give us a limited right to process the photo, with our AI providers, only to make your pet; we do not keep the photo. The pixel pet is generated by AI and may not look exactly like your photo. You may use your pet in the App and share pictures of it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not use photos of nudity, violence or anything else that breaks the rules below.

Boko lets you name your pets, choose a display name, send gifts, chat with friends and write to us. Everything you post must be friendly. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive people. You agree not to:

• Post anything hateful, harassing, threatening, sexual, violent, or that bullies or targets anyone
• Share personal information about yourself or others, such as addresses, phone numbers or social media handles meant to move a conversation off Boko
• Spam, scam, advertise, or pretend to be someone else, including Boko staff
• Use names or images that infringe someone else’s rights
• Cheat, exploit bugs, use bots or modified apps, or interfere with the App or our servers
• Use Boko if you are under 13, unless a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you

Names and messages are filtered automatically, and you can report, block or mute any player from their page or chat. We review reports within 24 hours. We may remove content and suspend or delete the account of anyone who breaks these rules, without notice or refund of items.

You keep the rights to what you write. You give us a license to store and show it to the people you send it to, as needed to run the App. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely.

Everything in the App, including the pets, artwork, animations, sounds, code and design, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright. You may not copy, modify, sell or distribute any part of the App.

The App is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that it will always be available, free of bugs, or that progress can never be lost. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App. Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App does not meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, or claims that the App infringes someone’s intellectual property; we are responsible for those, as these terms describe. You confirm that you are not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or on any U.S. Government list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

You can stop using the App at any time and delete your account in the App. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the App. Sections about items, content, disclaimers and liability survive the end of this agreement.

These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it.
